Amanda Black, BA

Amanda Black is the Adoption Specialist for ABC Counseling, covering the entire state of Illinois. She graduated from University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. Not only is Amanda a mother through an open infant adoption, she's also fostered, tried fertility treatments, and hosted an international student. She has over 15 years of experience in the adoption field, primarily completing domestic infant adoptions, working with both adoptive families and birth families. Amanda worked as the Adoption Specialist for ABC from 2004-2014, and returned in 2025 after working at two other adoption agencies. She has a passion for advocating for adoptive families, birth families, and adopted children.
