EFFECTIVE November 1, 2022
Domestic Adoption Home Study Fee: $3,000
- The first half is due prior to the second meeting.
- The second half is due prior to the release of the final report.
Annual Home Study Update: $350
- All home studies must be updated annually until placement occurs.
Second Adoption Home Study: $1,500**
- Adopting a subsequent child within three years of the last adoption.
**Must be up to date on all required documentation.
Home Study Addendum (Example: A new home, new member of household, etc...): $150
Birthparent Services: $3,000
- Due when matched with Birthparent(s)
- This includes hospital coordination, as well as counseling for the birth parents/family before, during, and after placement.
Placement Fee for ABC Adoptions:
- When ABC matches Adoptive Parents and Birth Parents
Sliding Scale based on annual income:
- The first half of the placement fee is due within five business days of placement.
- The second half is due before adoption finalization, prior to the release of the final report.
Placement Fee for Identified Illinois Adoptions: $10,000
- For placements where the Adoptive Parents find Birth Parent(s) independently of ABC.
Placement Fee for Interstate Placement: $10,000
- When the baby was born in Illinois but the Adoptive Parents live outside of Illinois.
- This includes Interstate Compact Packet Preparation.
Post-Placement Visits – If home study was completed by ABC - $350/Each Visit + Mileage
- Illinois requires 3 post placement visits prior to finalization.
- Post-placement visit requirements could differ If finalizing in another State.
Post-Placement Visits - If home study was completed by another agency - $500/Each Visit + Mileage
- Illinois requires 3 post placement visits prior to finalization.
- Post-placement visit requirements could differ if finalizing in another State.
Report of Investigation:
- $350 if the home study was completed by ABC.
- $500 if the home study was completed by another agency.
Mileage Reimbursement:
- Travel outside of Bloomington/Normal, Illinois.
- Mileage fees are based on the current Federal rate and are subject to change.
Birthparent Living Expenses: Varies per client
Adoption Training & Background Clearances: Paid to Vendors
Legal Services and Court Costs: Paid to Attorney
Social Media/Marketing Fee for non-ABC families wanting to utilize ABC for Outreach and Marketing:
- $500 One-time fee
Expedited Report: $250
- If your report needs to be expedited, please speak with your Adoption Specialist. Each case is up to the
Executive Director's discretion and depends on availability. Background clearances, references, and medical reports may delay the process and these delays are out of our control.
