Sam Knight, MSW Candidate
Springfield
Samantha (she/her/hers) received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2023 and is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work at UIUC while completing her clinical internship at ABC Counseling. She is passionate about working with children, adolescents, and their families, while recognizing the broader systems that shape individuals’ experiences and well-being. Her therapeutic approach is decolonial, trauma-informed, and person-centered, integrating play and expressive arts therapies, TF-CBT principles, strengths-based perspectives, and body-based techniques informed by DBT and somatic therapies. She strives to create a collaborative, affirming space where clients feel empowered to explore their experiences and identities, build on their strengths, and move toward healing at their own pace. Outside of work, Samantha enjoys spending time with her dog and family, expressing her creativity through makeup, art, or writing poetry, and unwinding with a new reality TV series.
